Mobile app, Chinese language and user-friendliness raised interest in Hilton Beijing Capital Airport’s user training

A Granlund Manager pilot project for Hilton Capital Airport Hotel Beijing is starting at the end of this year. As one of the first steps of the cooperation, a user training was organized in the premises. The participants were especially interested about the user-friendliness of the system, the Chinese language support and the mobile app.

A Granlund Manager user training was organized on the 5th of December in Hilton Capital Airport Hotel Beijing. The reason for training is a pilot project starting in the hotel.

The training was organised for the whole engineering department, as well as representatives from other 14 departments – altogether over 40 participants. The target was that after the training the participants understand how the system operates and how will they use it.

The key content was Granlund Manager’s maintenance modules. Hilton uses software’s preventive maintenance module which makes planning their maintenance tasks more effective.

The trainer Jing Xu, IT Specialist of Granlund, emphasizes the importance of motivation.

“I see that it is extremely important to motivate maintenance staff to adopt a new way of doing things. For example, if personnel are used to utilizing pen and paper for handling work order, now we need to encourage them to use the system instead”, says Xu.

The participants were especially interested about the user-friendliness of the system, the Chinese language support and the mobile app. The mobile app usually raises very much interest in user trainings according to Xu. She also emphasizes easy usage of both the mobile app and the software.

Granlund Manager Mobile will be released for the iOS platform at the end of 2017. For Android devices, the app has been available since the summer of 2017.

The plan is to organize the next training after the users get familiar with the system.

“We plan to have a main user training to focus on some more advanced administrative features in the next phase. In this first training we focused on sending and handling service requests and completing maintenance tasks,” Xu explains.
