Granlund is expanding its range of services in the renovation field with new services for complete renovations of housing companies and energy services. Housing companies are under increasing pressure to renovate, and the Group intends to utilise its position as the leading expert in building services to strengthen its range of energy-efficient, user-oriented solutions for the residential sector.
”We aim to offer housing companies a comprehensive service that combines top-level building services and energy expertise with construction contracting and project management,” says the manager of the new Services for Renovation department, Tapani Muttonen.
Granlund set up a renovation department one year ago, and the department already employs about 50 people. The aim is to expand the renovation business substantially in forthcoming years. The Housing Company and Business Premises Services Unit was set up at the start of the year, to be led by Juhani Aalto. The unit will provide the Group with structural design and technical construction supervision services, reinforcing the unit’s expertise in facade renovations.
”Services for housing companies will be packaged into a clear entity for the residential sector. In the field of business premises, we will strengthen our renovation services for parties working in building management and property management,” Aalto says of the new service packages.
The housing company and business premises services will also be closely integrated with Granlund’s energy consulting services. Housing companies are increasingly aiming to improve energy efficiency, with many considering solutions such as geothermal heating and heat recovery. Energy consulting makes use of modern solutions, such as energy optimisation, which provide housing companies with access to a reliable tool for comparing the cost and life-cycle impacts of complete renovation projects.
